Within the IMVU environment, there are multiple groups set up with different structures, to create roleplay environments for Star Trek. In this section of our website, we are listing groups that we recommend, ones that we’re not sure about and ones we don’t recommend, so that you may choose if you wish to join one of these groups. This is grouped by “standing” – a good fleet will have a “Positive Standing”, a bad fleet will have a “Negative Standing” and a fleet that has neither, will be a fleet with a “Neutral Standing”

All information is gathered on a non-bias basis and the recommendations here are made from a neutral perspective. Do NOT contact us if your fleet is in the “do not recommend” section asking us to change it, we make recommendations based upon what we see from your outside image and the only way to change your status here is to improve your groups image.

Positive Standing Fleets

SFRPG – Starfleet RolePlay Group; the oldest fleet on IMVU (since its precursors were the 7th Fleet and 9th Fleet, the two original fleets, who merged to become SFRPG) – SFRPG has a clear chain of command and good roleplays. SFPRG functions together as a family and while it may have its problems, it is still one of the better groups on IMVU.

It’s given a 8.5/10 – a recommended fleet

Pros:

  • Decent storylines
  • Quality products
  • Family bonding of a group
  • Real-world communication

Cons

  • Too heavy focus on consistency
  • Strict rule structure
  • Slow progression
  • Single GM is in control of everything
  • Do not consider the individual over the group

Excelsior Fleet – less of a fleet, more of a gathering of individuals huddling together to enjoy RP. There is little to no structure in terms of hierarchy, Roleplays are unique and driven around player development. RP’s aren’t too strict and more based on enjoyment.

it’s given a 7/10 – a recommended fleet

Pros:

  • Good storylines
  • Individuality is important
  • Group bonding

Cons

  • Storylines can be flimsy
  • Little to no game master system
  • Smaller crews than needed

Neutral Standing Fleets

White Star Fleet – a break off fleet from Delta Fleet, it has a decent standing as a group, yet there are elements that concern people externally that this is just falling to the same shadow as Delta Fleet has. While this group has had some good interactions with other community members, it has also featured some gruelling individuals that need not be named.

it’s given a 5/10 – we are unable to recommend/not-recommend at this time.

Pros:

  • Decent storylines
  • High-quality uniforms
  • Quality training Academy

Cons

  • Rude members (Ambassador mainly)
  • Strict rule structure
  • Pink – need we say more

First Fleet – there is not much that we can say about this group, it seems to be on the quiet side, yet it has not made any bad impact nor any good on anyone. Therefor we require more information before making a recommendation on this group

Century Fleet – Not even sure this still exists anymore. It has gone very quiet in recent times and has not been seen active in roleplaying. We again have very little information on this group and cannot make a recommendation at this time.

Negative Standing Fleets

Fire Fleet Fire Fleet WAS on our Positive Standing Fleets list, however the blatant HOMOPHOBIC and TRANSPHOBIC comments made by its de facto leader, Fleet Admiral Katie Shaw have made supporting this group impossible.

We have clear policies in place that state: “Our policy extends to but is not limited to: homophobia, racism, transphobia, queerphobia, biphobia, misogyny, harassment, xenophobia, classism, antisemitism, islamophobia and ableism

Delta Fleet – is a break off from SFRPG founded in 2011. It started as a decent group but has been plunged into chaos due to poor leadership, brainwashing and dictatorship fueled by paranoia. Groups need to be honest to be successful and Delta has always been led by people attempting to trick the community into believing a falsehood.

We don’t even bother to rate or attempt to place Pros and Cons for this fleet.

Not recommended – avoid at all cost.

Amazon Fleet – a new fleet that has popped up recently, was going to be a recommended fleet however it makes clear that it is a FEMALE avatar-based group only, promoting pure sexism which is against the general idea of Star Trek.

Not recommended – avoid
